Where our aim is simple: to endeavour to promote health, fitness & wellness in all ages, races, abilities & sex of the local communities by providing activities, classes, workshops & training that have a proven beneficial effect on health & wellness.
The how is relatively simple too: we listen to the community, what the health, fitness & wellness needs are, then see how we can best deliver those to as many people as possible!

I joined country fit in February. Originally it was to support me losing some weight. However within a few weeks I realised that I have found something that is just for me. I am a busy mum, wife and manager in a school so there is limited time for just me; but joining the classes gave me just that. Over the past few months I have noticed that my confidence has grown and I have met some great people along the way, so would like to give back. I really enjoy learning the dances and supporting new and more experienced dancers, and look forward to building my own confidence in leading classes and see what the future may bring along with the great support from Lorah.

I have lived in Dorset for around 10years. Since I started fitness classes, especially the Country Fit dancing, I have become more focused and have a much improved mental health. I have made and met some amazing supportive people, and want to be able to give back to the community who have been so supportive. I have 3 children, 2 are young. Making time to go to classes really shows that we do need time off and do something for ourselves.

I have lived in Shaftesbury for around 10 years & absolutely love it here. I love helping people better themselves through their health & fitness, & achieve things they never thought they would. I set up my Wellness Shark (now called TheWildCo) business during covid to help as many people as I could & have absolutely loved the journey it’s taken me on & the people I’ve met over the years. I am a mum of boys, Town Councillor, Lead Councillor on the Youth Council & have worked locally; so I am well integrated in the local community. I love my town, I love the people & I want to give so much through Wildly Healthy!

I was born in Shaftesbury and live here now, and even though I have travelled the world, I have always come back because I truly love it. I love it so much I even started an amazing family eco business here, Enchanted Planet. Due to living here since birth, I know a lot of the residents along with their needs and wants, which I feel puts me in a fantastic position to be a Trustee of Wildly Healthy, which actually listens to the community. I absolutely love open water swimming, especially in the sea, especially in my mermaid tail with my daughters, and believe everyone should give it a go at least once to realise just how beneficial it is. Health and fitness are so important to me and I promote this in my everyday life for both myself, with long daily dog walks, and my family with the girls attending most sports clubs. We also can cook up quite the health-storm in the kitchen too!

I have lived and worked in and around Shaftesbury for the last 40 years. I have brought up three children here. I like walking and finding places of interest. I get on well and enjoy meeting people. One of my favourite pastime is Line Dancing, which I love. I have also started Aqua Therapy which I enjoy and have now decided I wanted to learn to swim – so pleased to say I am almost there! What an achievement!

I’ve always been interested in fitness but really stepped it up these past 3 years. I’m passionate about water fitness in our local swimming pools, especially the Lido, and feel it should be accessible to all regardless of finances, which is why I am proud to call myself a Trustee for Wildly Healthy. I have lived in Shaftesbury 24 yrs, working at local businesses, volunteering at a local charity shop for 5 years, and proudly supporting other local charities. I feel that if you’re given a healthy option, be it food or exercise, at a young age, it will continue well into adulthood. I know this first hand because I was in a running / athletics club from age 5 all the way up till my late teens, and now I am exercising 5-7 days a week!
Have an idea of what you’d like to see in Shaftesbury & the surrounding areas that will improve your health, fitness or wellness?
